How It Happened
ANNVILLE, Pa. – Lebanon Valley dominated Arcadia and outscored the Knights 8-1 in the second half to cruise to a 13-4 win on Tuesday night in MAC Commonwealth women's lacrosse action. The Dutchmen won their fifth straight and improved to 11-4, 6-1 MACC, while Arcadia dropped to 9-7, 4-3 MACC.
The Knights jumped out to a 2-1 lead with 20:45 remaining in the first half, but LVC rattled off four consecutive goals to take a 5-2 lead.
Emma Jones netted her first of the game at 18:45, followed by
Veronica Venezia's marker from Jones at 15:20. Later, at 6:22,
Jaclyn Little scored an up-goal, and
Kirsten Bannan finished off the Dutchmen's run with a goal from
Makenzie Kelley. Arcadia's Shannon Ryan made it a two-score game with 2:09 to go, but LVC still went into halftime with the advantage. All of LVC's first-half goals came from a different scorer.
The Dutchmen opened things up in a convincing way, beginning with Venezia's 30th goal of the season at 23:28. Then, LVC netted three consecutive up-goals, including tallies by Little, Jones, and
Kayci Strous to make it 9-3. Strous then added her second of the game, followed by Kelley's 51st of the season and another score from Venezia. With 10 seconds to go,
Emily Federowicz put the icing on the cake with her first of the game and seventh of the season to give the Dutchmen the 13-4 win.
Leah Franklin, the defending MAC Commonwealth Defensive Player of the Week, was a brick wall throughout the contest and allowed just four goals.
Inside the Numbers
- Venezia scored three goals and added a pair of assists.
- Little, Jones, and Strous scored two goals apiece. Jones added two draw controls for LVC.
- Kelley finished with four assists and one goal, while scooping up two ground balls and causing four turnovers.

Playoff Picture
LVC has clinched a spot in next week's MAC Commonwealth Championship Tournament. A win on Saturday would guarantee the Dutchmen the No. 2 seed with Messiah having already locked up the No. 1 seed.
