How It Happened
Hood scored the game's first four runs and never looked back in a 6-3 win over Lebanon Valley in the opening game of a doubleheader on the final day of the regular season.
The Blazers (18-15, 8-7 MAC Commonwealth) scored three first-inning runs and added a fourth in the bottom of the third before
Cheyanne Brown's RBI single drove in
Sammy Bost to stop the bleeding and get the Flying Dutchmen (18-16, 7-8 MAC Commonwealth) on the board.
Hood responded by getting two back in the bottom of the frame before LVC put together a rally in the top of the seventh that fell short of completing the comeback. Brown picked up her second RBI of the game when her single
Alissa Robinson and
Emily Johnson's RBI groundout plated
Haley Christensen but that's as close as the Dutchmen would get.

How It Happened
A pair of Hood three-run home runs in the second inning cost Lebanon Valley a victory and a shot at the postseason as the Flying Dutchmen dropped a 7-5 decision in game two of a conference doubleheader that brought their season to a close.
LVC (18-17, 7-9 MAC Commonwealth) led 2-0 through one and a half frames but three-run homers by the Blazers' Roo Saglimbeni and Sophia Leaman changed the game's complexion. Jasmine Webster's solo shot in the third padded the Hood (19-16, 9-7 MAC Commonwealth) advantage and forced the Dutchmen to play from behind with their season on the line.
Lebanon Valley got something going in the fifth and scored three runs thanks to a
Jordyn Miller groundout and RBI singles by Kelli Vallie and
Alissa Robinson but the Dutchmen left a runner in scoring position to end the fifth and sixth stanzas and the comeback attempt fell short.
