How It Happened
Emma Jones scored with less than a second remaining overtime to help Lebanon Valley defeated its longtime rivals Albright by a 13-12 score on Wednesday night in MAC Commonwealth women's lacrosse action. The Dutchmen jumped to 10-5, 6-1 MAC Commonwealth, while the Lions were tamed and slipped to 10-6, 5-3 MAC Commonwealth.

With one second remaining in the second half, Albright's Amanda Smith was fouled and was awarded a free position shot. With the game on the line, Shelby Morris made the save of the game and stoned Smith to send the game into overtime.

The Dutchmen opened up the overtime period a player down due to a Julia Brewer yellow card at the end of the second half. Playing with an extra attacker, the Lions' Mariah Cullen took a shot 30 seconds into overtime and hit the post, allowing LVC a chance to clear and head to the other end of the field.

Later in overtime with 30 seconds remaining, Jones scored what everyone thought was the game-winning goal, however an early celebration led to an illegal substitution call, voiding Jones' goal and giving Albright life. Cullen then received a yellow card, giving LVC the advantage in the closing seconds of overtime. With less than a second to go, Jones was fouled and given a free position shot. The junior buried it past Albright's Emily Hutson to give the Dutchmen the incredible victory.

The Lions jumped out to a 4-1 lead with 22:13 left in the first half, however Sam Boyce scored back-to-back goals to cut the deficit to one with 10:15 remaining in the opening half. With Albright up 5-3 at 5:31, Tori Kuntz and Jones scored consecutively as the game was knotted at 5-5 heading into halftime.

The second half was a back-and-forth affair featuring four ties, all leading up to Jones' thrilling buzzer beater in overtime.

Play of the Game
After her initial game-winner was waived off, Emma Jones made her way down the length of the field and buried a free-position strike with 0.6 left in overtime to give the Dutchmen the thrilling victory over their rivals from up the road.
