NEW ORLEANS – The Unites States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) has announced its 2015 all-academic team and individual recipients. Lebanon Valley's women's track & field squad earned the team award while five LVC track & field athletes achieved all-academic status.
Thanks to a strong collective effort by the Flying Dutchmen women's team in the classroom this season, LVC was recognized by the USTFCCCA as a group.
A total of 170 women's teams and 99 men's teams earned the USTFCCCA NCAA Division III All-Academic Team distinction. A team must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.10 or higher to earn the honor.
Individually, Lebanon Valley male athletes
Kyle Fronk,
Andrew Goelz,
Michael Harnish, and
Nick Scullin were honored by the USTFCCCA while
Cynthia Adams represented the Dutchmen on the women's side.
A total of 420 women from 127 institutions and 297 men from 106 institutions earned the USTFCCCA All-Academic Individual honors. To qualify, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.30 and met either of the following athletics standards: competed in NCAA Indoor or Outdoor Championship; finished the regular season ranked in the national top-35 in an individual event or ranked in the national top-25 in a relay event on the official NCAA POP list provided by TFRRS.org.
