Game 1 Box
Game 2 Box

ANNVILLE, Pa.
- Lebanon Valley College held both games close, but ultimately came up on the losing end of a doubleheader with Albright, falling 6-3 and 6-4 on a warm spring afternoon at McGill Park.

The Dutchmen (10-19, 0-9 CC) are now locked into playing the Commonwealth Conference's 4/5 playoff play-in game on March 29. If they sweep three games from Widener University next weekend, they could host that game.

Game one was highlighted by LVC's three-run fifth, while Joe Soupik went yard in the second game for a three-run shot in the third.

In game one, Albright ran out to a 6-0 lead after four and a half, but LVC put a three-spot on the board in the bottom of the fifth. Paul Earle led off with a double, and Brandon Thompson's single to left center scored him. John Mentzer singled and Thompson stretched a run from second after advancing on a wild pitch, and Joe Soupik singled in Mentzer on the next at-bat.

Unfortunately, the Dutchmen couldn't find any more runs as they were shut down by reliever Kevin Butler over the final two innings.

Nick Faria took the loss for LVC, allowing all six runs. Shane Specht was effective in two innings of relief, not allowing a hit while walking three.

In game two, Albright jumped out to a 2-0 lead when Jason Dunkelberger scored on Joe Kopchick's dropped fly in center, and Jeff Kulp singled in Tim Conner. LVC took the lead in the third, however, when Dennis Morgan scored on an error, and Soupik laced a shot just over the wall to bring three across.

However, Albright quickly retaliated four a four-run inning of their own keyed by Kyle Wenrich's two-run double and Casey Lawrence's sac fly.

Nate Blough went the distance for LVC, taking the loss while allowing eight hits. Tim Flannery picked up the win for Albright, going 6.1 innings and allowing six hits; Jordan Boyer picked up the save.

LVC will head to Franklin & Marshall Sunday at 1 p.m.
