RYE, N.Y. - No. 6 Manhattanville College scored seven straight goals from the middle of the second period as the Valiants routed Lebanon Valley College, 8-1, Friday night.

The Dutchmen (1-19-1, 0-12 ECAC West) had tied the game at one early in the second period before the Valiants (14-4-2, 6-3-1 ECAC West) went on a goal-scoring romp.

Chris Trafford tallied the only goal of the first period for Manhattanville at 13:56 as LVC goalie Aaron Miller made 12 saves in the period to keep his team in the game.

Lebanon Valley was rewarded with Sean Wilson's power-play goal at 4:41 of the second period, with assists coming from Casey Mignone and Brad Surdam.

But it was all downhill from there as the home team rolled with seven unanswered goals, including two in a 13-second span in the middle of the second as LVC found itself at a 5-on-3 disadvantage.

Manhattanville scored quickly twice more, tallying at 12:46 with Derek Lynden's goal and again 23 seconds later on Jason Murfitt's goal. Three more Valiant goals came along in the third period to finish the scoring.

Arlen Marshall led Manhattanville with two goals and two assists; Trafford finished with two goals and an assist.

LVC and Manhattanville skate again Saturday night at 7 p.m.
