READING, Pa. - Albright College swept the season series from Lebanon Valley College, going wire-to-wire to win, 77-62, at the Bollman Center Saturday night.
The Dutchmen (8-13, 2-4 CC) seemed to be overpowered by the size of the Lions' (14-5, 4-2 CC) frontcourt, as 6-11 center Phil Hall dominated the game with 18 points, nine rebounds, and two blocks. LVC was outrebounded 42-29.
Kyle Enoch led LVC with 16 points, and Dan Hodge added 11. Tom Murphy and Albert Medoro each drained 14 for the Lions.
Albright scored the first five points of the game and never looked back, taking a 10-point lead with 10:10 to go in the first half and extending that to 15 after a Hall three-pointer and Andrew Pomager's layup.
The Dutchmen showed signs of life in the latter part of the half, and after another Hall trey put Albright up 14 with 6:56 to go, LVC ran off 12 straight points to cut Albright's lead to two.
The Lions responded with an 8-2 run of their own and led, 41-35, at the half.
LVC kept the game close to start the second half, pulling within four after a pair of foul shots by Eric Humphrey in the opening minutes, but the Lions embarked on a 9-0 run to take a double-digit lead once again.
The Dutchmen cut it as close as seven twice more, but a Murphy three-ball with 6:41 remaining put Albright back into a double-digit lead for good.
Albright shot a solid 48.3 percent from the floor, including 8-of-17 from beyond the arc. LVC shot 37.5 percent overall.
The Dutchmen are back in action Wednesday at Widener for an 8 p.m. tip.
