Head Coach Brad McAlester used a timeout with 15:27 left, and it did the trick - the Dutchmen stormed out with a 6-0 run to tie the game at 46 with 13:06 to go. King's quickly retook the lead, but a Humphrey layup gave LVC the lead back for good at 11:02 and the Dutchmen went on a tear, starting with a three-ball from Hodge and ending with another trey by Enoch to take an eight point lead just over a minute later.
The Dutchmen ballooned the lead to as much as 15 late in the half. LVC was outstanding at the line, shooting 12-of-15. King's, meanwhile, was plagued by poor foul shooting with a 10-for-21 night. The Monarch committed just six turnovers to LVC's 16 in the game.
