HERSHEY, Pa. - The Lebanon Valley College ice hockey team suffered a setback Saturday, losing 10-2 to No. 2 Manhattanville at Hersheypark Arena.
The Dutchmen (1-7-0, 0-4-0 ECAC West) were overwhelmed by the Valiant (5-1-1, 2-1-1 ECAC West) offense, and were outshot 55-17.
Manhattanville blew the game open with five goals in the third period, including a pair of power play tallies.
Nick Averona scored for LVC at 9:26 of the second period off assists from Kyle Smith and Jimmy Black, and Sean Wilson added a goal at 12:54 of the third with helpers from Anthony Ventura and Ray Nicks.
But the Dutchmen couldn't fend off the Valiants, who received four points from Dillon Henningson and two goals apiece from AJ Mikkelsen and Arlen Marshall. Manhattanville's top line was responsible for four goals and seven assists.
Rich Drazin played the majority of minutes in goal, making 39 saves while allowing nine in 52:42. Aaron Miller made six stops and gave up a goal in 7:18 of relief. Paul Reimer stopped 15 for Manhattanville.
LVC will regroup and head to regional and conference rival Neumann College for a pair of games Nov. 30 and Dec. 1.
