Men's Soccer Drops 5-0 Decision to E-town

ANNVILLE, Pa. - Elizabethtown College scored five unanswered goals as it blanked Lebanon Valley College, 5-0, in men's soccer action at Herbert Field on Saturday.

The Blue Jays (11-3-0, 2-0 CC) took 13 shots to the Dutchmen's (6-8-1, 0-3 CC) eight, but made the most of their opportunities.

E-town opened the scoring in the sixth minute when Matt Diller one-touched a ball from Andrew Filewicz. Brian Raveling did the same off Diller's pass in the 25th minute to put the Jays up 2-0.

Bryan Kuppe added a third in the 38th minute, chesting Zach Galbraith's pass into goal.

The scoring didn't stop late. Although LVC pushed the tempo early in the second half, E-town added two more, first on George Severini's breakaway tally in the 72nd minute and then against n the 87th minute on Taylor Helsel's score from Tony Pacella's long throw-in.

Tim Mehl and Andrew Raudensky split time in goal, combining for six saves.

E-town held a 13-8 advantage in shots and a 5-0 edge in corners.

LVC heads to Rutgers-Camden on Wednesday for a 6 p.m. game.
