GRANTHAM, Pa. – Messiah College used a huge first-half to post a 94-54 victory over Lebanon Valley in a Commonwealth Conference women’s basketball game Saturday evening at Brubaker Auditorium.
The Falcons (14-1, 4-0 CC), ranked No. 7 by D3hoops.com and No. 8 in the USA Today/ESPN Coaches Poll, shot a blistering 66.7% in the first half and finished 62.5% from the floor.
Messiah was led by Nicki Lobach, who scored 13 of her 18 points in the first half. Sarah Ringer shot 7-for-8 from the floor and scored 14 points, with 12 coming in the decisive opening period, while pulling down six rebounds. Ashley Brooks also reached double figures in scoring for the Falcons, posting all 12 of her points in the opening half.
Senior forward Monica Johnson scored a game-high 19 points on 9-of-15 shooting to go with six rebounds for Lebanon Valley (4-9, 1-3 CC). Sophomore forward Megan Bish contributed eight points off the bench.
Lebanon Valley resumes its schedule on Tuesday, when it hosts Widener University at 7:30 p.m. in a Commonwealth Conference affair.
