ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley College men’s soccer team captured its home opener Saturday afternoon, blanking King’s College 4-0 in non-conference action at Herbert Field.
Junior Zack Barkus scored in the 25th minute to give Lebanon Valley (1-2) all the scoring it would need. Classmate John Mentzer finished with six saves in goal to pick up his first shutout of the season.
The Dutchmen padded their lead with three second-half goals. Junior Dan Pitonyak, freshman Jeremy Bicking, and senior Mike Martin all punched in their first goals of the season.
John McNichol stopped nine shots for King’s (1-2).
Lebanon Valley returns to action on Tuesday, when it hosts DeSales University at 4 p.m. in another non-conference affair.
