ANNVILLE, Pa. – Junior Erik Vargo won at No. 1 singles to stretch his winning streak to 10 and the Lebanon Valley College men's tennis team defeated the University of Scranton 7-0 in a non-conference match Sunday afternoon at the LVC Tennis Courts.
Lebanon Valley (6-7), which snapped a four-match losing streak, won all three doubles sets and all six singles contests.
The Flying Dutchmen lost only one singles set all day. Sophomore Shawn Becker won his first set 7-5 but fell 6-4 in the second to force a super-tiebreaker, and Becker won it 10-6.
Vargo, who won by a 6-1, 6-0 count, pushed his record to 11-3 while freshman Jared Zeigler scored an identical 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 6 singles to improve to 10-5 on the season.
