READING, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley College men’s tennis team lost a tough 4-3 decision to Albright College in Commonwealth Conference action Tuesday afternoon.
Lebanon Valley (5-4, 1-1 CC) fell behind 1-0 after Albright claimed the doubles point. Sophomore Shawn Becker and junior Erik Vargo earned LVC’s lone doubles win, scoring an 8-3 victory at the second slot for their sixth straight win.
The Flying Dutchmen made it close by winning three of six singles matches. Vargo won 3-6, 6-3, 7-5 at No. 1 singles for his sixth win in a row while classmate Stu Hartman earned his fifth straight win with a 6-1, 6-0 victory at second singles. Freshman Jared Zeigler posted a 6-3, 6-3 win at No. 6 singles for his seventh win in a row, pushing his record to 8-3.
Lebanon Valley returns to Commonwealth Conference action on Wednesday, when it hosts Juniata College at 3 p.m.
