Susquehanna Rallies to Beat Women’s Soccer in OT

SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Lindsay Knowlton scored two goals, including the game-winner 1:09 into overtime, as host Susquehanna came from behind to defeat Lebanon Valley 3-2 in a Commonwealth Conference women’s soccer match Friday evening.

After Knowlton scored her first goal in the 21st minute, Lebanon Valley (1-8-2, 0-4 CC) struck twice to assume a 2-1 halftime lead. Senior Keri Foster tied it up in the 33rd minute, converting an indirect kick for her third goal of the season, before junior Kristen Hoover put the Valley in front in the 40th minute when she booted home her second goal of the year.

Susquehanna (4-5-2, 1-2 CC) forced overtime when A.J. Chianese scored in the 60th minute before Knowlton’s game-winner. It was Lebanon Valley’s second straight overtime loss.

Sophomore Erika Ely finished with nine saves in goal for the Dutchwomen while Megan Steese turned away two shots for the Crusaders.

Lebanon Valley picks up its schedule on Wednesday, when it visits Ursinus College for a non-conference match starting at 4 p.m.
