WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Lebanon Valley College volleyball team completed the regular-season portion of its schedule on Saturday with a tri-match at Gallaudet University, taking on a pair of regionally-ranked teams.
The Flying Dutchmen fell to Gallaudet University 3-0 (30-16, 30-17, 30-18) before defeating the University of Scranton (30-26, 34-32, 27-30, 30-26).
Against Gallaudet, senior Natalie Goodfellow led LVC (21-9) with 11 kills and nine digs. Freshman Whitney Meyers totaled seven kills while freshman Christa Vrabel, sophomore Brandi Roth, and junior Jill Miller each had seven digs. Sophomore Erin Yost and freshman Lisa Slata handed out 13 and 10 assists, respectively.
Goodfellow lifted the Valley to victory against Scranton, as she recorded 30 kills for her fifth 30-kill match of the season. She also had 18 digs and two aces. Sophomore Margaret Prebula threw down 15 kills while Meyers had 10 kills and five blocks, four of which were solo. Yost distributed 61 assists to go with 18 digs and three aces while Roth notched eight kills and 19 digs. Miller added 13 digs, and Vrabel had 15 digs and three aces.
Lebanon Valley returns to action on Wednesday, when it travels to No. 1 ranked and top-seeded Juniata College in the Commonwealth Conference semifinals at 7 p.m.. LVC is the fourth seed in the four-team tournament.
