ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa.  – The Lebanon Valley College women’s tennis team lost 5-0 to top-seeded Elizabethtown College on Saturday afternoon in the semifinals of the Commonwealth Conference championship tournament.

Due to NCAA rules, the conference playoff match was called after Elizabethtown (12-1) had clinched the victory. The Nos. 1-4 singles matches were not finished.

The Blue Jays swept the three doubles matches from fourth-seeded Lebanon Valley (9-6), building a 3-0 lead, before capturing the Nos. 5 and 6 singles contests.

E-town advances to Sunday’s Commonwealth Conference championship match to face second-seeded Moravian College, a 9-0 winner over third-seeded Messiah College in the other semifinal.

Lebanon Valley concludes its fall season next Saturday and Sunday, when it competes in the MASCAC Singles and Doubles Tournament at Lehigh University.
