Swimming Teams Sweep Arcadia

ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley College men’s and women’s swimming teams swept a dual meet from Arcadia University Tuesday evening at the LVC Swimming Pool.

The men’s team, now 7-3 on the season, scored an 83-74 victory while the women’s squad came out on top 86-68, pushing its record to 6-6.

The two LVC squads combined to win 17 of 20 events.

Senior Isaac Greene had a big night for the Flying Dutchmen, posting first-place finishes while resetting his own school records in both the 100-meter butterfly (1:03.69) and the 400-meter freestyle (4:31.76). Freshman Kevin Carney also won two events for the Valley, capturing the 800-meter freestyle (9:30.31) and the 100-meter backstroke (1:04.87).

The women’s team also had a pair of double winners in freshman Annmarie Errico and junior Hannah Plimpton. Errico won both the 200-meter IM (2:50.54) and the 100-meter breaststroke (1:25.06) while Plimpton captured  the 800-meter freestyle (11:19.27) and the 400-meter IM (6:18.34).

In addition, freshman Lauren Horst broke a school record that had stood since 1993 in the 200-meter freestyle, finishing second in 2:23.69. She also won the 100-meter backstroke in 1:19.20.

Both teams return to action on Friday, when they visit Widener University at 5 p.m.
