ANNVILLE, Pa. – Chris Walters scored an unassisted goal in the 35th minute, lifting Franklin & Marshall to a 1-0 win over Lebanon Valley in non-conference men’s soccer action Saturday afternoon at Herbert Field.

Lebanon Valley (1-3-0) out-shot F&M (1-0-3) 14-12, but could not slip a shot past Diplomat goalies Ed Stelz and Sandy Welsch. Stelz stopped three shots over the opening 69:29 before being ejected with a red card before Welsch saved three shots of his own the rest of the way.

Freshman Tim Mehl came up with four saves while taking the loss in his second collegiate start.

The Dutchmen pick up their schedule on Wednesday, when they visit DeSales at 4 p.m. in another non-conference affair.
