ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley College men's tennis team improved to 2-3 in the Commonwealth Conference with a 5-2 win over Susquehanna on Saturday afternoon at the LVC Tennis Courts.
The Flying Dutchmen won the doubles points by winning two of the three matches, then captured four of six singles contests en route to the victory.
The win gave 12th-year Head Coach Cliff Myers his 200th combined win as LVC's men's and women's coach.
In doubles play, sophomores Erik Vargo and Stu Hartman won 8-6 at No. 1 before senior Zach Cook and sophomore Zach Kaufman scored an 8-2 victory at No. 2.
Vargo, Hartman, and Cook were double-winners, as they also picked up singles victories. Vargo won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1 while Hartman posted a 6-1, 6-3 victory at No. 2. Cook recorded a 6-1, 6-1 triumph at No. 4 and freshman Shawn Becker came away with a 6-3, 7-6 win at No. 5.
Lebanon Valley concludes its six-day, five-match stretch on Sunday, when it visits Scranton in a non-conference match starting at 1 p.m.
