SCRANTON, Pa.  – The Lebanon Valley College men's tennis team completed its six-day, five-match stretch on a high note Sunday, as the Flying Dutchmen defeated host Scranton 4-3.

Scranton (2-3) went ahead 1-0 after capturing the doubles point, but Lebanon Valley (4-8) came back to win four of six singles matches to earn the win.

Sophomore Erik Vargo and freshman Shawn Becker came away with LVC's lone doubles win, as the pair won 8-5 at No. 1.

Vargo and Becker were also winners in singles play. Vargo scored a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 1 to push his record to 11-2 while Becker posted a 6-3, 6-3 win at No. 4. to improve to 8-5.

Also winning for the Dutchmen were junior J.P. Henry and senior Sean Weir. Henry picked up his first collegiate singles victory with a 7-5, 6-3 triumph at No. 5 and Weir prevailed 6-3, 6-0 at No. 6.

Lebanon Valley takes a much-needed three-day break before returning to action on Thursday, when it visits Moravian in a Commonwealth Conference match starting at 3:30 p.m.
