BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley College baseball team fell to 8-6 and 0-4 in the Commonwealth Conference after losing 11-5 at Moravian on Wednesday afternoon.

With the game tied 4-4 heading into the bottom of the fourth, Moravian (5-10, 2-5 CC) scored seven runs over the next three innings en route to its victory.

Senior Craig Denlinger led the Flying Dutchmen at the plate, going 3-for-5 with an inside-the-park solo home run in the top of the ninth.

Senior Chris Clancy (1-3) threw three innings of relief to pick up the win for Moravian. Senior Robert Nordall suffered the loss for the Dutchmen after yielding eight runs on nine hits and four walks. Nordall left the game after getting hit in the arm with a batted ball with two outs in the fifth.

Lebanon Valley took a 3-0 lead in the top of the first. Junior Matt Rich ripped a two-run double then scored on an error on the next play.

The Greyhounds got on the scoreboard with one run in the second, then plated three more in the third to go ahead 4-3. The Dutchmen pulled even in the fourth on a sacrifice fly from junior Alex Morrisson.

Moravian scored its final seven runs on seven hits and three walks.

Freshman Trevor Lawrence started for the Greyhounds and gave up four runs on five hits over the first four innings. Clancy shut out the Dutchmen on two hits over the next three frames before Stephen Tomaszewski hurled the final two innings, allowing one run on four hits.

Senior Ron Weaver and sophomore Dan Kelly smacked two hits apiece for LVC.

The Dutchmen return to action on Thursday when they host Juniata at 3 p.m. in a Commonwealth Conference contest.
