HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The Lebanon Valley College women’s tennis team continued its Spring Break trip with two more matches on Wednesday.
The team started the day with a 5-2 win over Cabrini. Freshman Leslie Sabas won 6-1, 6-2 at No. 1 singles while classmate Brooke Sensenig captured a 6-3, 6-3 victory at third singles. Other singles winners were junior Jenny Larson (6-3, 6-2) at No. 4 and sophomore Angela Esh (6-0, 6-4) at No. 5.
In doubles play, Sensenig and Larson scored an 8-5 win at the second slot.
Later in the day, Lebanon Valley dropped a tough 5-4 decision to St. John Fisher. The Flying Dutchmen got off to a 2-1 lead after winning two of the first three doubles matches. Sabas and junior Amanda Lubold won 8-6 at No. 1 while Esh and freshman Nicole Interdonato claimed an 8-6 victory at No. 3.
The Cardinals won four of six singles matches to earn the one-point victory. Sabas and Larson each won their second match of the day for Lebanon Valley. Sabas earned a 6-3, 6-2 victory at No. 1 while Larson captured a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 4.
Larson pushed her season record to 14-4 with her two singles victories.
