ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley College men's tennis team dropped a 5-2 decision to Elizabethtown in the Commonwealth Conference opener for both teams Thursday afternoon at the LVC Tennis Courts.
Elizabethtown (4-2, 1-0 CC) swept all three doubles matches to get off to a 1-0 lead. The Blue Jays then won four of six singles matches.
Sophomore Stu Hartman and senior Sean Weir earned the lone two points for Lebanon Valley (2-5, 0-1 CC). Hartman won 7-5, 5-7, 10-6 at No. 2 while Weir scored a 3-6, 6-2, 10-5 win at No. 6.
At No. 1 singles, sophomore Erik Vargo was handed his first loss of the season after starting 6-0. Vargo fell 6-2, 6-4.
Lebanon Valley returns to action on Sunday, when it hosts King's at 1 p.m. in a non-conference match.
