ANNVILLE, Pa. – Senior Jess Conrad made six saves, including three in the two overtime sessions, as Lebanon Valley played Moravian College to a 0-0 tie in Commonwealth Conference women’s soccer action Thursday afternoon at Herbert Field.
Just two minutes into the first overtime, Moravian (12-3-1, 4-1-1 CC) had a breakaway opportunity, but Conrad made a diving stop to her right to save a shot by Tracy Fitzgerald.
Conrad then turned away two more shots in the closing minutes of the second overtime, stopping a blast from point-blank range before saving a shot that came off a direct kick.
Conrad’s shutout was her fourth of the season and the 18th of her career.
Freshman Caitlin Corrigan made four saves for the Greyhounds, ranked fourth in the Mid-Atlantic region. Moravian out-shot Lebanon Valley (3-8-3, 1-3-1 CC) 18-6 and 5-0 beyond the end of regulation.
Freshman Emily Bainbridge also made a big defensive play for LVC, as she booted away a shot on goal in the first half.
Lebanon Valley has now shut out its opponent in each of its last three matches, the first time the team has blanked its competition three times in a row since early in the 2001 season.
Lebanon Valley resumes play on Saturday, when it hosts DeSales University in a non-conference game starting at 1 p.m.
