CHESTER, Pa. - After losing the first game 30-26, Lebanon Valley rallied to win the next three en route to a 3-1 win over host Widener University in Commonwealth Conference volleyball action Wednesday evening.
LVC won 30-21 in the second game before cruising to 30-13 and 30-17 wins in the third and fourth games, respectively.
Lebanon Valley (21-4, 5-1 CC), which has clinched its fifth straight Commonwealth Conference playoff berth, maintained its hold on second place in the conference standings with the victory. LVC remained one game in front of Moravian College and Elizabethtown College, who both won on Wednesday, and extended its lead over Widener to two games.
Junior Natalie Goodfellow led all players with 18 kills while freshman Margaret Prebula enjoyed an outstanding match, recording 15 kills and a match-high six blocks. Senior Lexi Horstman added 16 kills while classmate Katie Ferree had 20 digs.
Freshman Erin Yost finished with 17 digs for LVC while senior Cat Roth handed out 53 assists.
Kim Brady led Widener with 14 kills while Maggie Caramanico had a match-high 30 digs.
Lebanon Valley picks up its schedule on Saturday, when it travels to Marymount University for a tri-match. LVC will take on Wesley College at 1 p.m. and Marymount at 3 p.m.
