ALTOONA, Pa. – Sophomore Donna Geiger scored two goals and freshman Erika Ely recorded her first collegiate win and shutout as the Lebanon Valley College women’s soccer team defeated Penn State-Altoona 4-0 in a non-conference match Monday afternoon.

Geiger scored in the 11th minute, giving Lebanon Valley (3-8-2) all the scoring it would need. Junior Gretchen Artz made it 2-0 in the 15th minute when she converted a feed from sophomore Kristen Hoover. Geiger pushed LVC’s advantage to 3-0 in the 27th minute with her third goal of the season.

Freshman Erin McGarvey provided the final touches in the 80th minute when she punched in her first collegiate goal.

Ely needed to make only one save in goal for Lebanon Valley while Wheeler Haley stopped 15 shots for the Cougars (2-13).

Lebanon Valley out-shot Altoona 31-1.

LVC picks up its schedule on Thursday, when it hosts Moravian College at 4 p.m. in a Commonwealth Conference match.
