ANNVILLE, Pa. – Wes Bunting scored on a header in the sixth minute and it would hold up as the game-winning goal as Elizabethtown defeated Lebanon Valley 1-0 in a Commonwealth Conference men’s soccer game Saturday afternoon at Herbert Field.

Elizabethtown (7-2-1, 3-0) won its fourth straight game and stayed perfect in the Commonwealth. Lebanon Valley (3-6, 0-2 CC) lost its second straight conference game to start the season.

Bunting’s header was set up by a throw-in from Jeff Boushell.

Aside from Bunting’s goal, it was an evenly-played game, with the Blue Jays holding an 11-8 advantage in shots. E-town was also awarded the only penalty corner of the game.

A.J. Fleisher stopped four shots to earn his third shutout of the season while sophomore John Mentzer saved six shots for the Dutchmen.

Lebanon Valley returns to action on Tuesday, when it hosts Christopher Newport in a non-conference game starting at 4 p.m.
