ANNVILLE, Pa. – Sophomore Natalie Goodfellow (York, Pa./Spring Grove) slammed a team-high 12 kills, leading the Lebanon Valley College volleyball team to a 3-0 (30-27, 30-25, 30-14) non-conference win over York College Tuesday evening at the LVC Gymnasium.
Lebanon Valley Head Coach Wayne Perry'78 picked up his 298th victory at LVC with the win. He can reach the 300 mark on Friday, when his team plays twice in Lebanon Valley's Dutchman Tournament.
All four of Lebanon Valley's wins this season have been sweeps.
Senior Amanda Bahn (York, Pa./Spring Grove) added 11 kills and a team-high four aces for the Valley. She also recorded five digs and passed the 1,000 mark for her career to become the first player in LVC volleyball history to collect 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs. Bahn stands third on LVC's career digs list and is second all-time in kills with 1,074. She is also the school's all-time leader in service aces (205).
Freshman Jessica Guntz (Sinking Spring, Pa./Wilson) also had an outstanding hitting night for the Valley, throwing down nine kills while making no errors on 16 attempts.
Defensively, junior Katie Ferree (Waynesboro, Pa./Waynesboro) notched a team-high 14 digs while enjoying another impressive game passing the ball. Freshman Jill Miller (New Oxford, Pa./Delone Catholic), junior Cat Roth (Hanover, Pa./Delone Catholic), and sophomore Steph Bedgar (Glen Rock, Pa./Susquehannock) contributed 10 digs apiece.
Roth also had 40 assists and three aces.
Lebanon Valley kicks off its Flying Dutchman tournament on Friday with a 5 p.m. contest against Neumann College. At 7:30 p.m., LVC takes on Mt. Aloysius.
