SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Sophomore Natalie Goodfellow (Spring Grove, Pa./Spring Grove) threw down a match- and career-high 23 kills, but Susquehanna held off a late rally to defeat Lebanon Valley 3-2 in Commonwealth Conference volleyball action Tuesday evening at Houts Gymnasium.
Lebanon Valley (11-4, 1-2 CC) won the opening game 30-26, but Susquehanna (15-3, 3-0 CC) stormed back to win the next two games by a count of 30-21 and 32-30. The Flying Dutchmen rallied to tie the match with a win in Game Four (30-17) before the Crusaders pulled away with a 15-6 win in the fifth and deciding game.
Senior Amanda Bahn (York, Pa./Spring Grove) turned in a double-double for Lebanon Valley, as she recorded 10 kills and 12 digs while serving up five aces. Sophomore Jess Guntz (Sinking Spring, Pa./Wilson) added 10 kills while junior setter Cat Roth (Hanover, Pa./Delone Catholic) distributed 50 assists. Junior libero Katie Ferree (Waynesboro, Pa./Waynesboro) posted 11 digs.
Missy Kadingo led Susquehanna with 20 kills and six blocks while Tabitha Adams had 23 digs.
Lebanon Valley returns to the court on Friday, when it takes on Greensboro College and Villa Julie College in day one of the Salisbury Tournament.
