ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. – Sophomore Natalie Goodfellow (Spring Grove, Pa./Spring Grove) slammed a season-high 18 kills to lead the Lebanon Valley College volleyball team to a 3-1 victory over Elizabethtown College on Tuesday evening in the Commonwealth Conference opener for both teams.
Lebanon Valley (9-2, 1-0 CC) won its seventh match in a row and is on the team's longest winning streak since winning eight straight in 2002. Elizabethtown (4-3, 0-1) lost for the first time in five matches.
The Blue Jays won the first game 30-27, but LVC won going away with 30-26, 30-15, and 30-25 victories.
Senior Amanda Bahn (York, Pa./Spring Grove) and junior Lexi Horstman (Hummelstown, Pa./Lower Dauphin) contributed with 14 and 13 kills, respectively, for the Valley while freshman Ashley Watson (Columbia Cross Roads, Pa./Troy) posted a double-double with 13 kills and 19 digs. Junior Katie Ferree (Waynesboro, Pa./Waynesboro) added a season-high 28 digs to go with three aces while freshman Jill Miller (New Oxford, Pa./Delone Catholic) had 14 digs and three aces.
Lebanon Valley takes a week off before returning to the courts next Wednesday, when it hosts Juniata at 7 p.m. in another Commonwealth match.
