COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Junior Ron Weaver (Lancaster, Pa./Lancaster Catholic) went 3-for-4 with three runs and five RBIs and Lebanon Valley defeated Ursinus College 15-4 in non-conference baseball action Tuesday afternoon at Price Field.
Weaver missed the cycle by a triple. He smacked his sixth home run of the season and ripped a double and a single.
Lebanon Valley (14-18) led 5-2 after four innings of play and broke open the game with 10 unanswered runs from the fifth through the seventh.
Junior Robert Nordall (Lebanon, Pa./Lebanon) started on the hill and picked up the win for the Flying Dutchmen. Nordall (3-2) worked six innings and allowed two runs on five hits and two walks. He struck out four.
Ursinus fell to 19-13-2.
Junior Scott Montgomery (Harrisburg, Pa./Susquehanna Township) and sophomore Jon Kelly (Lebanon, Pa./Cedar Crest) also knocked three hits apiece while junior Craig Denlinger (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield) went 2-for-4 and blasted his sixth homer of the season. Denlinger also extended his hitting streak to nine games. Sophomore Matt Rich (Summerdale, Pa./East Pennsboro) added three RBIs for the Dutchmen.
LVC out-hit the Bears 17-9.
Lebanon Valley kicks off its final Commonwealth Conference series of the season when it visits Albright College at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Dutchmen conclude the series when they host Albright in a doubleheader starting at noon on Saturday.
