WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley College men's tennis team continued its hot start on Sunday afternoon, as the Flying Dutchmen blanked King's College 7-0 in MAC non-conference action.
LVC won its sixth straight match to open the season while King's fell to 0-7.
Three different singles players and one doubles pair extended their undefeated records for the Dutchmen. In singles action, freshman Erik Vargo (Lititz, Pa./Lancaster Catholic) and senior Andy Platt (York, Pa./York Suburban) won at No. 3 and No. 4 singles, respectively as each player to improved to 6-0 on the season. In addition, junior Zach Cook (Schaefferstown, Pa./ELCO) won at No. 6 singles to push his record 5-0.
Other singles winners included junior Ryan Wendell (Shiloh, N.J./Cumberland Regional) (No. 1), senior Chris Keeney (Leola, Pa./Conestoga Valley) (No. 2) and freshman Stuart Hartman (Hershey, Pa./Lower Dauphin) (No. 5).
In doubles play, Wendell and Hartman won at the No. 1 position and moved their record to 6-0. Platt and Vargo also picked up a victory at No. 2 doubles.
Lebanon Valley returns to action on Tuesday when it hosts Eastern University at 3:30 p.m. in a non-conference match.
