ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley College women’s soccer team suffered its first Commonwealth Conference loss of the season on Tuesday evening, dropping a 2-0 decision to host Elizabethtown College.
LVC (6-3-1, 2-1-0 CC) had its four-match winning streak snapped with the loss. The Blue Jays, playing their Commonwealth opener, improved to 6-5-0.
Kelly McCauley gave E-town a 1-0 lead in the 27th minute when she booted in a shot off an indirect kick a few feet in front of the goal. Lindsay Brown provided an insurance goal when she converted a corner kick in the 78th minute.
Amy Weid needed to make only two saves to earn the shutout for Elizabethtown while junior Jess Conrad (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) turned aside three shots for LVC.
Lebanon Valley takes a week off before returning to action next Tuesday, when it hosts the University of Scranton in a non-conference match.
