ANNVILLE, Pa. – Senior Amanda Bahn (York, Pa./Spring Grove) and freshman Jess Guntz (Sinking Spring, Pa./Wilson) threw down a match-high 11 kills apiece, and the Lebanon Valley College volleyball team secured its fourth straight Commonwealth Conference playoff berth with a 3-0 (30-21, 30-24, 30-19) win over Messiah Wednesday evening at the LVC Gymnasium.
Lebanon Valley (19-5, 4-2 CC) is now one win away from its fourth straight 20-win season. Messiah fell to 7-14 and 1-5 in conference play.
Sophomore Natalie Goodfellow (Spring Grove, Pa./Spring Grove) added nine kills for the Flying Dutchmen while sophomore Steph Bedgar (Glen Rock, Pa./Susquehannock) served up five aces. Bahn and junior Katie Ferree (Waynesboro, Pa./Waynesboro) recorded eight digs apiece while junior Cat Roth (Hanover, Pa./Delone Catholic) posted 41 assists and seven digs.
Kelly Kennedy and Shelby White led Messiah with kills apiece. Jessica Price logged a match-high 17 digs.
Lebanon Valley continues its season on Saturday, when it hosts Scranton and Gallaudet in a tri-match. LVC will take on Scranton at 10:30 a.m. and Gallaudet at 3 p.m.
