WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – Junior Amanda Lubold (Carlisle, Pa./Cumberland Valley) won her 10th singles match of the season with a victory at the No. 3 position, but King’s College edged Lebanon Valley 5-4 in a non-conference women’s tennis match Tuesday afternoon.
Lebanon Valley dropped to 7-8 while King’s improved to 8-6.
The Monarchs jumped to a 2-1 lead after winning two of thee doubles sets. Freshman Brooke Sensenig (Denver, Pa./Cocalico) and junior Jenny Larson (Kelso, Wash./Kelso) picked up LVC’s lone doubles point with an 8-4 win at the third slot. Larson improved to 10-4 in doubles play with the victory.
In singles action, Lubold’s 6-3, 7-6 (7-4) win pushed her season record to 10-5. At fourth singles, Larson improved to 8-3 with a 6-2, 6-0 victory. Freshman Nicole Interdonato (Gettysburg, Pa./Gettysburg) competed in her first collegiate singles match and added a 6-2, 6-2 win at sixth singles.
Lebanon Valley returns to action on Friday and Saturday, when it competes in the MAC Individual Championships.
