SCRANTON, Pa. – Freshman guard Allie Butler (Sellersville, Pa./Pennridge) scored 16 points and handed out a game-high 10 assists for her first career double-double, and Lebanon Valley knocked off Marywood University 81-51 in non-conference women's basketball action Wednesday evening.
Lebanon Valley (9-1), which has equaled its best 10-game start in program history, outscored Marywood (2-3) 44-21 in the first half. LVC also started off 9-1 in the 1997-98 season.
Butler's 16 points tied a career-high and her 10 assists also marked a career-best. She shot 5-for-10 from the floor, including 2-of-3 shooting from behind the arc, and was 4-for-6 at the foul line.
Senior center Kate Puschak (Lancaster, Pa./Conestoga Valley) paced Marywood with game-highs of 17 points and 16 rebounds.
Junior center Jennifer Northcott (Horsham, Pa./Hatboro-Horsham) had an incredible all-around game for LVC. She scored 14 points and logged nine rebounds, four blocked shots and a career-high seven steals.
Freshman forward Monica Johnson (Randallstown, Md./Randallstown) also notched her first career double-double, as she came off the bench to post career-highs of 12 points and 10 rebounds.
Junior forward Tamika Rogers (Baltimore, Md./Milford Academy) added eight points and seven rebounds while junior guard Erin Eaby (Ephrata, Pa./Ephrata) tossed in eights points.
Lebanon Valley attempted a season-high 90 shots and made 34 of them for a 37.8% shooting night. The Flying Dutchmen held the Pacers to 30.0% (21-of-70) shooting.
LVC returns to action on Saturday when it visits Wilkes University in a MAC non-conference affair starting at 7 p.m.
