GRANTHAM, Pa. – Senior guard Evan Harlor (Danville, Pa./Danville) scored a game-high 24 points on 4-of-5 three-point shooting, leading the Lebanon Valley College men's basketball team to an 83-67 victory over host Messiah College Saturday evening at Brubaker Auditorium.

Lebanon Valley (12-7, 6-2 CC) came into the game locked in a three-way tie with Susquehanna and Widener for first place in the Commonwealth Conference standings. But with Susquehanna and Widener losing on Saturday, the Dutchmen now sit alone atop the conference once again.

Messiah (11-8, 3-5 CC) lost for the fourth time in its last five games. The Falcons were paced by Dave Henninger, who recorded 18 points and 12 rebounds.

Harlor registered a perfect shooting performance in the first half, in which he was 4-for-4 from the field, 3-for-3 from beyond the arc and 2-for-2 at the foul line. He is now 43 points from reaching the career 1,000-point mark.

Messiah took a 38-37 lead into halftime, but the Dutchmen stormed back to outscore the Falcons 46-29 in the second half.

Junior guard J.D. Byers (Westminster, Md./Westminster) added 19 points for the Valley while freshman guard Jimmy Curran (Allentown, Pa./Allentown Central Catholic) added a career-high 14 points on 10-of-11 free-throw shooting. Junior forward Steve Buzinski (West Pittston, Pa./Wyoming) pulled down a team-high six rebounds.

Lebanon Valley shot 50.0% from the game. After Messiah shot 48.5% in the opening half, the Dutchmen held the Falcons to 38.5% shooting in the second half.

LVC returns to action on Wednesday, when it hosts Albright College at 8 p.m. in another Commonwealth Conference battle.
