WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley College men's and women's swimming teams earned a split against host King's College on Saturday evening in a MAC non-conference meet.
Both of Lebanon Valley's teams were competing in their first meet since Nov. 25.
The men's team lost by a 97-94 count and fell to 2-4 on the season. The women's squad defeated the Monarchs 114-92 and won its first meet of the season to improve to 1-6.
The men's team earned four victories on the evening. Sophomore Isaac Greene (Elizabethtown, Pa./Elizabethtown) won the 200 IM with a time of 2:13.76. He also came out on top in the 500 free with a 5:30.20 clocking. Freshman Matt Woods (Stevens, Pa./Cocalico) was victorious in the 100 fly (1:04.33) and the 200 free relay team of Woods, senior Adam Demchak (Annville, Pa./Annville-Cleona), sophomore Cory Hackman (Elizabethtown, Pa./Elizabethtown) and freshman Mark Orndorf (Chambersburg, Pa./Chambersburg) placed first in 1:44.03.
On the women's side, LVC won all 11 events. Individually, freshman Danielle Kern (Warminster, Pa./William Tennent) captured both the 1,000 free (3:31.62) and 500 free (6:33.93) while classmate Lynn Donmoyer (Annville, Pa./Annville-Cleona) won the 50 free (27.53) and 100 free (1:04.10). Other individual winners were senior Kristen Stichler (Cleona, Pa./Cedar Crest) (200 free, 2:27.20), junior Joanna Tiedeken (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks West) (200 IM, 2:44.69), sophomore Sam Meglino (Ridley Park, Pa./Ridley) (100 fly, 1:16.70), sophomore Jenn Kush (Allentown, Pa./Emmaus) (100 back, 1:11.65) and freshman Hannah Plimpton (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill) (100 breast, 1:18.21).
In the 200 medley relay, Kush, Plimpton, Meglino and junior Shanalyn Sweigart (Reading, Pa./Muhlenberg) teamed up to win in 2:09.1 while senior Julia Falkner (Street, Md./North Harford), Donmoyer, Kush and Sweigart touched the wall first in the 200 free relay.
Both teams return to action on Saturday, Jan. 24 when they travel to Lycoming for a double-dual meet with Lycoming and FDU-Florham.
