LANCASTER, Pa. – Junior Christine Schmidt (Strasburg, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg) scored her second goal of the season, but it wasn’t enough as the Lebanon Valley College women’s soccer team tied Franklin & Marshall College 1-1 Tuesday afternoon in non-conference action.

Schmidt gave LVC (5-1-2) the lead just 49 seconds into the second half when she finished off a feed from senior Amber Spell (Pine Grove, Pa./Pine Grove). But the Diplomats (3-4-2) pulled even in the 68th minute when Amanda Zambrano scored the first goal in nearly 200 minutes against LVC keeper Jess Conrad (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley). However, the sophomore goalie picked up a pair of saves in overtime to help the Valley earn the tie.

Lebanon Valley returns to action on Saturday when the team hosts Moravian College in a Commonwealth Conference match-up starting at 1 p.m. at Herbert Field during Homecoming/Oktoberfest.
