ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. – Elizabethtown built a 2-0 halftime lead, then piled on four second-half goals as the No. 7 Blue Jays cruised to a 6-0 Commonwealth Conference victory over Lebanon Valley on Thursday evening.
E-town (7-1, 1-0 CC), which is also ranked No. 1 in the Mid-Atlantic Region, won its fifth match in a row while LVC (3-6, 0-2 CC) lost for the fifth time in its last six matches. The Flying Dutchmen were also shut out for the fourth time in their last five outings.
The Blue Jays used a balanced scoring attack, as the team’s six goals were generated from six different players.
Senior Michael Ciattei made three saves to earn the shutout between the pipes. Senior Christian Koch (Hershey, Pa./Hershey) stopped five shots for the Valley.
Lebanon Valley was out-shot 19-5.
The Flying Dutchmen return to action on Saturday when they travel to Widener University at 2 p.m. in another Commonwealth contest.
