READING, Pa. – Albright College won two of three doubles matches, but Lebanon Valley stormed back to win all six singles sets as Lebanon Valley College defeated the Lions 7-2 in Commonwealth Conference women's tennis action Wednesday evening.
Lebanon Valley ran its record to 4-1 (1-1 Commonwealth) with the victory while Albright remained winless at 0-6 (0-2 Commonwealth).
Dating back to last season, the Flying Dutchmen have now won 11 of their last 13 matches.
In the Valley's lone doubles victory, senior Kelly Stauffer (Pennsburg, Pa./Upper Perkiomen) and junior Chris Jessen (Newfield, N.J./Woodstown) won 8-6 at the No. 2 slot to improve to 4-1 on the season.
In singles action, senior Amora Cook (Schaefferstown, Pa./ELCO) and sophomore Sophia Kwon (Enola, Pa./Cumberland Valley) won at the first and second flights, respectively. Junior Lindsey Noll (Scheafferstown, Pa./ELCO), Stauffer and Jessen all improved to 4-1 with wins at third through fifth singles, respectively. Sophomore Amanda Lubold (Carlisle, Pa./Cumberland Valley) won at No. 6 singles for her third straight victory to start the season.
Lebanon Valley picks up its schedule on Saturday at 1 p.m. when it hosts Elizabethtown College in another Commonwealth Conference match.
