ANNVILLE, Pa. – Lebanon Valley won two of three doubles matches, but Susquehanna came back to win five of six singles contests en route to a 6-3 victory in Commonwealth Conference women’s tennis action Monday afternoon at the LVC Tennis Courts.
Susquehanna stayed perfect at 3-0 (2-0 CC) with the win while the Valley lost its first match of the season to drop to 3-1 and 0-1 in the Commonwealth.
Senior Kelly Stauffer (Pennsburg, Pa./Upper Perkiomen) and junior Chris Jessen (Newfield, N.J./Woodstown) earned an 8-1 win at second doubles for LVC and sophomores Jenny Larson (Kelso, Wash./Kelso) and Angie Petiak (Wapwallopen, Pa./Berwick) won their fourth straight match to open the season with an 8-5 victory at No. 3 doubles.
Sophomore Amanda Lubold (Carlisle, Pa./Cumberland Valley) won 6-4, 6-0 at sixth singles for the Valley’s only singles win.
The Flying Dutchmen return to action on Wednesday when they take on Albright College in another Commonwealth match.
