ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley women’s tennis team improved to 3-0 to start the season after defeating King’s College 6-3 Thursday afternoon at the LVC Tennis Courts.
King’s fell to 1-2 with the loss.
The bottom of the lineup performed well for the Valley. LVC picked up wins at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles, then picked up victories at third through sixth singles.
In doubles action, senior Kelly Stauffer (Pennsburg, Pa./Upper Perkiomen) and junior Chris Jessen (Newfield, N.J./Woodstown) earned an 8-1 victory at the second flight while sophomores Angie Petiak (Wapwallopen, Pa./Berwick) and Jenny Larson (Kelso, Wash./Kelso) also recorded an 8-1 win at the No. 3 slot.
Junior Lindsey Noll (Schaefferstown, Pa./ELCO) and Stauffer each registered a 6-1, 6-0 victory at third and fourth singles, respectively while Jessen logged a 6-0, 6-1 win. In her season debut, sophomore Amanda Lubold (Carlisle, Pa./Cumberland Valley) won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 6 singles.
Lebanon Valley continues its season on Saturday when it hosts Susquehanna University at 1 p.m.
