YORK, Pa. – Lebanon Valley won at first through fourth singles and picked up wins at first and second doubles en route to a 5-2 non-conference victory at York College on Wednesday.
The win was the Flying Dutchmen's fourth straight and ran the team's record to 5-3. York dropped to 2-3 with the loss.
Senior Chris Hileman (Sinking Spring, Pa./Wilson) captured a pair of victories, winning at both No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles to draw closer to Josh Shellenberger's '99 career record. Hileman now has 114 victories and can tie Shellenberger with his next win.
Hileman won 6-2, 7-6 (7-5) in singles play to improve to 5-2 on the season. He also teamed up with sophomore Ryan Wendell (Shiloh, N.J./Cumberland Regional) for an 8-2 win in doubles action as the pair stayed perfect at 3-0 this year.
Senior Ryan Arnold (Lebanon, Pa./Cedar Crest) came away with a 7-6 (7-3) 6-4 No. 2 singles victory and captured an 8-4 win at second doubles with senior Brock Hoover (Myerstown, Pa./ELCO).
Wendell upped his singles record to 6-2 on the season after posting a 6-4, 6-2 win at third singles while Hoover won 6-3, 3-6, 6-4 at No. 4 singles to push his season record to 4-0.
Lebanon Valley returns to the courts on Thursday when the team visits the University of Scranton for a MAC non-conference match starting at 4 p.m.
