ANNVILLE, Pa. – Lebanon Valley won the doubles point and captured five of six singles matches en route to a 6-1 Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) semifinal victory over Wilkes University on Saturday afternoon at the LVC Tennis Courts.

With the victory, the Flying Dutchmen (13-5) earned their second straight appearance in the MAC Championship match. LVC will now visit Drew University, a 6-1 winner over Albright College in the other MAC semifinal, on Monday at 3 p.m. in the MAC Championship match.

Drew, the 2003 MAC Freedom Conference champion, has defeated Lebanon Valley in both of the Dutchmen's appearances in the MAC Championship. The Rangers beat LVC for the MAC title last season and in 1997.

Lebanon Valley, the winner in 12 of its last 14 matches since starting the season 1-3, started the day by winning at both No. 1 and No. 3 doubles. Senior Chris Hileman (Sinking Spring, Pa./Wilson) and sophomore Ryan Wendell (Shiloh, N.J./Cumberland Regional) teamed up for an 8-5 win at first doubles, as the pair improved to 9-3 on the season.

Senior Brock Hoover (Myerstown, Pa./ELCO) and junior Zach Jarrett (Lewisburg, Pa./Lewisburg) earned an 8-4 win at third doubles for the Valley.

Junior Andy Platt (York, Pa./York Suburban) cruised to a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 6 singles before Wendell picked up a 6-1, 6-0 victory at third singles as Lebanon Valley took a 3-0 lead. Hoover then clinched the match for the Dutchmen when he won 6-3, 6-4 at fourth singles. Hoover's win also pushed his season record to 12-1.

Junior Chris Keeney (Leola, Pa./Conestoga Valley) contributed to the cause with a 7-6 (6), 6-2 win at fifth singles and improved to 11-1 on the year. Hileman rallied for a 2-6, 6-0, 7-5 triumph at first singles while hiking his 2003 record to 14-3.
