ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. – Sophomore center Jennifer Northcott (Horsham, Pa./Hatboro-Horsham) scored 15 points and grabbed a game-high 16 rebounds to lead the Lebanon Valley College women's basketball team to a 64-55 victory at Elizabethtown College in a Commonwealth Conference match-up in Thompson Gymnasium.

Lebanon Valley (19-3, 10-2 CC) extended its winning streak to eight and strengthened its grip on second place in the conference standings.

Northcott's double-double was her seventh of the season.

Sophomore guard Crystal Gibson (Randallstown, Md./Randallstown) added 13 points and a game-high six assists. She also had three steals and tied a career-high with three blocked shots.

Junior guard Cherrissa McCoy led E-town (7-16, 4-8 CC) with a game-high 16 points while junior forward Jessica Hollinshead posted 13 points.

Elizabethtown controlled the game early and led by as much as 10 on three occasions over the opening 7:55. But a 16-6 LVC run that spanned seven and a half minutes tied the game at 26 with 4:37 to go in the opening half. Lebanon Valley took its first lead since the game's first minute when a lay-up by sophomore guard Carrie Lathrop (Landisville, Pa./Hempfield) put her team ahead 31-29 with 2:39 to go in the half. The Valley would never trail after that shot.

LVC led 35-32 at the half with Northcott leading all scorers with 11 points.

The Blue Jays tied the game at 40 with 13:23 remaining and trailed by just four (55-51) with 3:39 left. But that's as close as E-town would get, as LVC would hold the Jays to one field goal the rest of the way.

Lebanon Valley returns to Commonwealth action on Tuesday when the team travels to Juniata College at 6 p.m. in the first game of a men's and women's doubleheader.
