ANNVILLE, Pa. – Freshman Isaac Greene (Elizabethtown, Pa./Elizabethtown) broke his fourth school record of the year and the Lebanon Valley College men’s and women’s swimming teams spilt a Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) double dual meet with Lycoming College and FDU-Florham (N.J.) Saturday afternoon in the Arnold Sports Center.
The meet was the final home appearance of the season for both teams.
On the men’s side, the Flying Dutchmen (3-6, 2-6 MAC) defeated FDU-Florham 71-16 but dropped a 57-30 decision to Lycoming. The LVC women’s team (3-8, 2-7 MAC) got by FDU-Florham 76-18 but lost to Lycoming by a 61-32 count.
Greene raced to a 2:27.3 clocking in the 200-meter butterfly to nip the former record of 2:28.83 set by Ron Garcia ’02 last season. Greene also finished first against both FDU and Lycoming in the 200-meter freestyle, winning the event in 2:08.33.
Junior Taylor Reinhard (Halifax, Pa./Halifax) qualified for the MAC championships in the 200-meter breaststroke with a time of 2:54.7. Reinhard also placed second in the 100-meter breaststroke in 1:16.57. Classmate Adam Demchak (Annville, Pa./Annville-Cleona) also met the MAC qualifying standard in the 100-meter freestyle, swimming to a 1:00.21 clocking.
For the women’s team, the 200-meter free relay team recorded the team’s highest finish of the afternoon. Sophomore Joanna Tiedeken (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks West), freshman Sam Meglino (Ridley Park, Pa./Ridley), junior Lauren Procopio (Stroudsburg, Pa./Stroudsburg) and freshman Jenn Kush (Allentown, Pa./Emmaus) placed second in 2:06.16.
Both teams compete in their final dual meet of the season on Tuesday, when they travel to Alvernia College in non-conference action at 7 p.m.
