ANNVILLE, Pa. – Lebanon Valley received five MAC-qualifying performances, but the University of Scranton swept a MAC non-conference meet from the Flying Dutchmen on Saturday afternoon at the LVC Swimming Pool.
Scranton’s men’s team (1-0) won 111-72, while its women’s squad (1-1) earned a 135-68 victory.
Both Lebanon Valley’s men’s and women’s teams fell to 0-2.
Sophomore Isaac Greene (Elizabethtown, Pa./Elizabethtown) highlighted the day for LVC, winning two events. Greene won the 800-meter freestyle in 9:51.02 and captured the 400-meter freestyle in 4:42.24, qualifying for the MAC Championships in both events.
Senior Taylor Reinhard (Halifax, Pa./Halifax) qualified for MACs in both the 100-meter breaststroke (1:20.37) and the 50 freestyle (26.95) as did sophomore Sam Meglino (Ridley Park, Pa./Ridley) in the 100-meter butterfly.
The men’s 200-meter medley relay registered an outstanding showing, clocking a 2:03.31 while finishing just nine-hundredths of a second off the winning pace.
LVC’s women’s team returns to action next Saturday when it hosts Drew University and Juniata College in a tri-meet starting at 1 p.m. Both teams hit the pool on Saturday, Nov. 21 when they host Susquehanna University beginning at 1 p.m.
