PITTSBURGH – Megan DeVries scored the game’s only goal in the 61st minute to give Moravian College a 1-0 victory over Lebanon Valley in the semifinals of the ECAC Mid-Atlantic Region women’s soccer tournament Saturday afternoon at Carnegie Mellon University.
Lebanon Valley, seeded second out of six teams in the tournament, concluded its season at 11-4-4. The sixth-seeded Greyhounds (12-3-4) will move on to Sunday’s championship game and face the winner of the other semifinal between top-seeded Carnegie Mellon and fourth-seeded Gywnedd-Mercy.
The game was the third meeting between Lebanon Valley and Moravian this season. The two teams tied during their regular season, and LVC defeated the Greyhounds 1-0 in the Commonwealth Conference semifinals.
Sophomore Jess Conrad (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) recorded eight saves in goal for LVC while Jill Vaccaro picked up three saves to earn the shutout for Moravian.
The Greyhounds out-shot the Flying Dutchmen 10-3. Moravian also held a 6-0 advantage in corner kicks.
